Mona Lisa makes the stunning new face of Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign, but the subject of the most famous painting in the world is just the icing on the cake. The latest collaboration is simply made for the art lover, in a monumental collaboration between Louis Vuitton and acclaimed artist Jeff Koons. Koons’ most famous work includes the iconic Balloon Dog, which fetched a monumental US$58.4 million in a Christie’s auction. The new collection of specially designed bags and accessories are expected to hit stores on Friday, April 28.

The collection features a fascinating rounding of Koons’ most famous paintings, including the long-standing ‘Grazing Ball’ series which is reinterpreted in the new Louis Vuitton products. The paintings feature famously hand-painted reproductions of works by the Old Masters in large scale. Re-creations of masterpieces by da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh have also breathed life onto some of Louis Vuitton’s more iconic products, from the Keepall to the Neverfull.

The collaboration reaffirms the maison’s strong footing in the art world, succeeding high profile collaborations of the past with the most influential artists of this era, including Cindy Sherman, Olafur Eliasson, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama and James Turrell. Indeed, the maison has offered constant engagement with the world of art through the years, whether in their experiential collaborations or role as both curator and patron. In 2014, Louis Vuitton officially unveiled an art museum in Paris, the Fondation Louis Vuitton designed by Frank Gehry.

The collection will be available at Louis Vuitton Island Maison at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, Ngee Ann City and ION Orchard.
