First Look at Ralph Lauren’s Runway-to-Retail September Collection

Ralph Lauren’s runway-to-retail concept debuted last Wednesday at the New York Fashion Week, in celebration of the Ralph Lauren Women’s September Collection.

Indeed, in an industry divided over the revolutionary new model, most commonly pegged as the See-Now-Buy-Now, the season’s show took over an entire city block in true New York fashion, with every look available for purchase immediately through and selected stores worldwide, marking a new chapter in nearly five decades of the American label.

“For the first time ever, I am proud to share with you my new women’s collection right off the runway and into your lives,” said Ralph Lauren. “For me, this is the ultimate expression of luxury - offering you every look, every accessory, every handmade detail immediately in my flagship stores around the world and online.”

The iconic Madison Avenue made for a handsome backdrop, and the urban sidewalk made for a makeshift runway, as the event unfolded in an intricate glass structure, made of over 75 individual panels.

“From the very beginning I’ve always designed with you in mind. You are changing the way you live and the way you want to shop, and we are changing with you and for you,” said Lauren.

Following the show, grand windows along Madison Avenue were immediately revealed, presenting every runway look against a high-tech video display of elegant horses in an artistic, contemporary twist to a Ralph Lauren classic.

Facebook, Youku, Line and Kakao were some of the social media platforms streaming the collection live, worldwide.
