More often than not when its movember, you might be giving the old morning shave a miss, unless you are keeping the moustache (Ron Burgundy style) and working hard to keep the rest of the whiskers off. Whatever the case may be, a nice reward for your efforts this month (those going full beard glory can skip this article) might be this handmade set of safety razor and brush set from Pittsburgh-based Studebaker. A double-edged safety model, each razor is made from 260-alloy brass and sterling silver, with stainless steel blades.

The matching brush here is reportedly made with Grade A badger hair, with a brass handle, while the blades are 5 Personna brand, comfort-coated. For those who care to know, Studebaker is named after Michael Studebaker, who works out of his basement in east Pittsburgh and his work space reminds us of traditional shoemaking and jewelry ateliers we have been privileged to visit. Every Studebaker piece is stamped Made in Pittsburgh as a reflection of the artisan’s pride in his city, which has a strong tradition of metalworking (it is colloquially known as Steel City).
