Moncler x Simone Rocha : A Uniform For Nature

If you haven't heard of Italian luxury outerwear brand Moncler's Genius Project, you're seriously missing out on an entire year's worth of collaborative brilliance. Launched last year, Moncler Genius is a rather genius and star-studded collective of some of the industry's biggest fashion designers and their take on the heritage brand. The result is an annual rolodex of 11 collections, to be exact – and can be considered to be mini-capsules with designers like Richard Quinn, Craig Green and Pierpaolo Piccioli. Part of the line-up is Irish fashion designer, Simone Rocha, most commonly known for her ultra-feminine, eccentric designs and strong hint of neo-romanticism. Rocha's capsule for Moncler is dubbed as 'a uniform for nature' and boasts elements of functionality and protection – the ultimate inspiration being that the wearer (much like the Girl Guide's) is protected from external dangers and well, the weather. The collection, 4 Moncler Simone Rocha (each capsule is numbered, followed by the designer's name) is now available at Marina Bay Sands and is a seamless continuation of its SS19 collection, which was also heavily inspired by natural elements. While SS19 was inspired more by the physical manifestations of nature – flowers, leaves, twigs – Rocha's FW19 narrative is certainly more functional. You can expect tent capes, ruffled dresses, intricate coats and of course, Rocha's signature hand-knitted pearl headpiece.  Browse the collection above.
