Summer Getaway: Nihiwatu Unveils Surf School, Spa Safari and More

You’ve probably heard of the Nihiwatu, a luxurious getaway surrounded by great nature and breathtaking scenery, with a gorgeous panorama of lush forest and pristine beaches. You’d also know that place is notoriously hard to book, with bookings made about six months to a year in advance.

The resort lies on the island of Sumba, Eastern Indonesia, with a pretty regular update on resort experiences. Their latest ones include the Coconut Cove surf school, an overnight Uma Izzie Spa Safari, and of course, the Nio Beach Bar and Infinity Pool.

Overnight Uma Izzie Spa Safari

The Nihi Oka Spa Safari is perfect for couples looking for the ultimate relaxation with the option for extra privacy. Indulge in an unlimited selection of pre-selected treatments while admiring an uninterrupted paradise-like vista. For those who prefer more exclusivity, the Overnight Uma Izzie Spa Safari includes a Sumbanese inspired one-bedroom villa.

Coconut Cove Surf School

Calm seas and white beaches are what makes the Coconut Cove home to the new surf school. With smaller waves, beginners and family will feel right at home as they surf up with the comfort of having all equipment provided. The Coconut Cove, where guests can reach by keep or boat, is not just for wake boarding, snorkeling, swimming and other watersports, though. After a day of activities, head on down to the chaise lounge or bar, or grab a quick shower. Located at Rua Beach, the area is known for being a calmer bay.

Infinity Pool at Nio Beach Club

And lastly, the Nio Beach Club celebrates its latest additions yet – the Nio Beach Bar. Sitting on the ‘Edge of Wildness’ is the club’s swanky new 20-m infinity pool that overlooks the stunning Indian Ocean. You could also catch a good view of Occy’s Left, and perhaps local village life during low tides. The Nio Pool also makes for an excellent setting for romantic sunset dinners, if you wish.
