2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition for Christmas

By LAWRENCE TAN

After alternating between a couple of BMWs and Lexus for the past few years, the Big Cat takes centerstage for luxury goods retailer Neiman Marcus’ “Fantasy Gifts” offerings for Christmas this season.

By “Big Cat”, we’re referring to the 2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged model, and Neiman Marcus will have 50 of these NM-nameplated special editions for order starting 16 October.

Besides beating the rest of the world to Jaguar’s latest flagship model, which only ships officially early next year, the NM version wears an exclusive Celestial Black metallic coat, and navy and ivory leather trim with matte wood accents. It also comes with a five-piece set of matching Jaguar luggage in navy blue leather – all in a USD105,000 package.

Jaguar’s new 5-liter V8 powerplant with an Eaton supercharger sits under the hood, unleashing 470 hp for a 0-60 mph leap in 4.7 seconds, paired with a six-speed ZF auto gearbox.

Of course, this XJL also represents Jaguar’s technological exhibition showcase – with a virtual reality 12.3-inch HD projected instrumental panel, 8-inch touchscreen display, docks for MP3 players and USB devices, and a 1200-watt, 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system. A wiser choice for a gift than say, one of those customized cupcake cars that rank as #4 on the same NM list.
