Moscow Politicos Get Caviar Vending Machines

By William Stolerman

Lining various political buildings in Moscow, you'll find a new culinary phenomenon taking root – caviar vending machines.

One such machine was recently installed in the Mayor's office and several more of the shiny, red dispensers are to be fitted in Parliament in the coming weeks. Talk about being in touch with the people.

In total there are 33 vending machines dotted across the capital's foremost government buildings and upscale offices; dispensing the little luxury in glass jars or tins which vary in price from £3.50 to £15.00.

Such was its popularity, a few weeks ago the Mayoralty's machine broke down and was in need of urgent repair.
