Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionelle 14-Day Tourbillon

The latest newcomer to the Patrimony Traditionnelle line, the Patrimony Traditionnelle 14-day Tourbillon is the first Vacheron Constantin watch to meet the new Hallmark of Geneva criteria.

Endowed with a 14-day power reserve, the calibre 2260 is equipped with four barrels mounted in coupled pairs, ensuring not only precision but also a better rate. Comprising 213 components with two large bridges, calibre 2260 has a larger surface than previous complications, allowing the Cotes de Geneve pattern to be highlighted in all its glory.

Despite the intricate movement, the design is decidedly understated, with functions clearly displayed on the dial. The tourbillion combined with small seconds takes centre stage at 6 o’clock. Above it lies the slightly off-centered hour and minute functions, while a 14-day power-reserve display, inspired by the brand’s pocket-watches of yore, punctuates the dial at 12 o’clock. Blending tradition with modernity, a slender bezel and the sapphire crystal caseback are accompanied by facetted hour markers, 5N pink gold dauphine hands and a vintage-inspired opaline silver-toned dial.

While a new tourbillon from Vacheron Constantin is always worth taking notice of, we think this watch is particularly important this year. It is a part of both our stories on important watches of SIHH 2012 and tourbillon watches to watch in 2012.
