Sold First Pagani Huayra For 23 Million 2

Unveiled to great fanfare at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the exotic Pagani Huayra has been snapped up by an anonymous Middle Eastern buyer at an eye-popping US$2.3 million, or about twice its listed price.

Here's how the story goes: the supercar was slated to be delivered to another Middle Eastern purchaser right after the Motor Show on March 18, but apparently suffered a case of cold feet and chickened out. This was when our intrepid buyer contacted Pagani, offering the company the aforementioned US$2.3 million—that's $1.17 million more than the original asking price— for the bragging rights to being the first person to own a Huayra.

The Pagani Huayra is a 700-hp beast powered by a Mercedes-Benz AMG 6.0L twin-turbo V12 engine, with a maximum torque of 740 lb-ft and a top speed of 230 mph. Head over here to read about our visit to the famed Pagani factory in Italy!
