Art & Design Savoir Faire: Hotel Eclat Beijing

In March 2013, Hotel Eclat Beijing opened its doors, welcoming guests to a brilliant new standard of style and design in the heart of the Chinese capital. Nestled in an airy glass and steel tower within Parkview Green, the much anticipated hotel boasts 100 rooms with individually designed suites. Despite the fact that it only opened recently, Hotel Eclat Beijing has already established itself as one of the most exclusive design and art hotels worldwide. This is partly due to the fact that it houses the largest private collection of Salvador Dali artwork outside of Europe. The hotel’s highly stylized lobby features original works by Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Zeng Fanzhi and Chen Wenling.

Besides the artwork, something to look out for would be the individually designed Deluxe Pool Suites. Each suite has 80sqm of indoor floor space and a private 5m jet pool in the 75sqm outdoor terrace. Each Deluxe Pool Suite has a distinctive flair and has been individually and carefully designed to cater to a range of interests, making every stay unique.

The ‘Alice’s Mad Hatter’ suite features playful decorative elements like quirky crockery and innovative lighting shaped as top hats that remind guests of the mad hatter in a world where everything is pure fantasy. If you’re thinking that the top hat lighting looks familiar, it is probably because we wrote about it – Jeeves and Wooster Pendant Lamps by Jake Phipps.
