Fastback GT : Rolls-Royce Wraith

What do we love about the Wraith? first off, we like it so much we have written it up when he got a sneak and then after the Geneva Motor Show! Now that the car has been shown in Hong Kong and Singapore, we thought we would revisit... Before we make any further statements, let us run through a wee bit of the features that this elegant behemoth has to offer.

It is the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, with 624 bhp. That folks, is a lot more than some of the supercars on the market nowadays. Working together with the 624 horses the Wraith’s 6.6 litre twin-turbo V12 engine shoots it from 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. Not bad for a car that weighs about 2.6 tons. Even with magnificent performance like this, the Wraith STILL feels like a Rolls-Royce should. The ride comfort is akin to riding on a bed of air, which is in space and being carried by angels wearing spacesuits.

Amongst the entire list of improvements and features that could fill out an entire home library, the Wraith also boasts the Starlight Headliner - 1,340 fibre optic lamps hand-woven into the roof lining to give the impression of a glittering, starry night sky.

Now for what we love about the Wraith…the Fastback design. Not only does the Wraith revive one of the most famous Rolls-Royce names first used in 1938, it also brings back the striking silhouettes of fastbacks – another throwback to the 1930s. The Wraith simply evokes the alluring pedigree of some of the most iconic designs from this influential era. Striking a perfect balance between the visual language of the fastback’s heyday and a thoroughly contemporary Rolls-Royce motor car, the Wraith is clearly a consummate gentleman’s gran turismo.
