Wealthy Women in China Splurge on High-Class Etiquette Course

Wealthy women in China who fear that their mastery of high-class etiquette is not up to par with others who live the high life are signing up for a US$16,000 course at Institute Sarita. This two-week course for the “etiquettely challenged” will cover a range of topics and activities. The ladies will gain knowledge about wine, elite sports, how and which cutlery to use during meals, how to pronounce luxury brand names, personal presentation like how to dress to flatter their body types and how much makeup to wear, etc.

Who’s the brainchild behind this operation? That would be Sarah Ho, a 27-year-old HarvardBusinessSchool graduate who was raised in Hong Kong but educated in the U.S. “What my clients want is really a guide, a new Confucius. What they need is a frame of reference and this is what I provide”, says Ho.

Putting aside the merits of paying US$16,000 for a two-week course on stuff that we can readily find on the Internet for free, we have but one question. What about the wealthy men and don’t they need one of these high-class etiquette boot-camps too? OK, that was two questions.
