'The Bomb' drinks cabinet

How many people can claim to have seen, or even gotten within a metre of a bomb? Aside from those serving in the military, we presume not many have. Perhaps not many would want to, given the explosive nature of bombs. Produced with the intent to cause harm, there is no debate that bombs are a nasty business. You can’t deny however, that having a large bomb as a drinks cabinet is pretty darn cool.

Built once and never to be replicated, a true one of a kind, ‘The Bomb’ boasts a mirror-polished aluminium and steel exterior. It opens to reveal a beautifully crafted interior consisting of a polished brass and lacquered black American walnut shelving unit and door inlays. Residing on the inside, custom-made copper cocktail utensils finish off a truly breathtaking drinks cabinet. The brilliant folks at Fallen Furniture repurposed an actual R.A.F. MK1 practice cluster bomb to build the cabinet. Having been meticulously crafted with an emphasis on originality and personality, the drinks cabinet is indubitably a head-turner. Don’t worry though; you can rest assured that the bomb has been decommissioned. A design process and ethos that went into creating The Bomb, is surely something to marvel at. You can expect your friends to make excuses to come over for a drink just to get a look at the thing.
