This Tequila Was Aged in an Old Whisky Barrel

The bottle serves part of an innovative collection titled the Expresiones del Corazón, a bold experiment that debuts, with its graceful imbibes, a trace of exotic blue agave plants from which it was made, hand-selected from Jalisco’s Los Altos region.

A slightly woody nose belies a pleasant, well-balanced experience, with a color bearing a slightly lighter successor to the previous Sazerac barrel-aged spirits. Another whiff brings to nose a hint of caramel amid a lovely blend of wood.

To taste, spice intensifies mid-palate as one unravels pepper spice and even a hint of the flavorful Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon, in this flavorful complex. The marked integration certainly defines an excellent blending of good bourbon and Corazon’s character.
