Widely regarded as the greatest whisky maker of his generation, Richard Paterson, nicknamed ‘The Nose’ will be celebrating five decades of work in the industry come September.

It was his exceptional gift for discerning the structure of whisky through smell alone that earned him the nickname. Indeed, in 50 years of his illustrious career, Paterson has created a few of the world’s most iconic whiskies and is famous for being the Master Distiller at The Dalmore Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. The landmark will have the iconic whisky maker host a series of tasting events around the world, in addition to a display of selected bottles, including the recently released The Dalmore Quintessence and The Dalmore Paterson Collection.

The global tour includes Singapore as a destination this November, where Paterson will meet VIP clients, trade partners and media.

“I love coming to Singapore,” he said. “It’s such a wonderful, modern and cosmopolitan city… Certainly The Dalmore collection lends itself well to many Singaporean dishes and it is always a joy for me to share a wee dram with the people of Singapore when I am visiting.”

The Dalmore is available in Singapore across 100 outlets in the finest bars and restaurants, including Salt Grill and Sky Bar, Highlander, Le Rouge and Baliza. For the largest collection nationwide, head on dwon to The Dalmore Boutique at Changi Airport, Terminal 2, at the DFS Wines and Spirits Complex.

“Whisky drinkers are on the rise too which makes our job exciting as it keeps us on our toes to always strive for producing the best to not disappoint,” Paterson added. “The past 50 years has flown by and I am so proud of what I have achieved in the industry.”

“My time with The Dalmore has provided me with some of my fondest moments. The chance to create and work with the world’s oldest and rarest malts has been an absolute privilege and I’m forever grateful that I’ve been able to share these treasures with fellow whisky lovers across the world.”
