Tom Dixon’s Hennessy X.O Dazzles In Gold and Black

It is often said that an extra old cognac is a wonder. Intricate yet unusual, robust yet balanced, it is a modern classic. You might call the Hennessy X.O. the quintessential symbol of Hennessy, and you won’t be wrong. The timeless classic is a true icon of the Maison, featuring an exceptionally long finish and a compelling aroma of old leather, black pepper and oak. The Hennessy X.O. exists as the insignia of the Maison, encompassing a rich history that endures through the ages, reinventing itself time and time again since Emile Fillioux created it for Maurice Hennessy in 1870.

The Hennessy X.O Exclusive Collection 2015, a masterwork of designer Tom Dixon and Hennessy, represents the conclusion of a splendid three-year collaboration between two titans, and just in time for Hennessy’s 250th Anniversary. The Hennessy X.O. is instantly recognized through its iconic decanter designed by Gerald de Geoffre in 1947 and remains prized through the years and relevant in all circles with its cutting-edge innovations with designers. This collaborative limited edition masterpiece dazzles in black and gold, and is as beautiful as a work of art as it is a fine drink.

“The Hennessy X.O carafe is a timeless object that I wanted to treat in an original, modern way,” said Dixon, who was the 2014 Mason&Objet Designer of the Year.

The golden bedazzlement is just one part of a trilogy, imagined by the British designer since 2013, the year the triptych began with a bold copper shade. 2014 followed with a sleek silver, and this year concludes with the Hennessy X.O Exclusive Collection in the purest of gold. The carafe is adorned with a repeated kaleidoscope of polygons, reflecting light in an elegance of balance and grandeur.
