Singapore’s top disruptors & innovators honoured by The Peak Power List 2017

The Peak magazine has honoured 10 of Singapore’s leading innovators and disruptors during its annual Power List event. Into its 4th year, The Peak Power List recognises movers and shakers in particular professional circles. This year, the list pays homage to disruptors and innovators across different sectors. The 10 personalities were shortlisted for their inexplicable aptitude for spearheading innovation in their companies, rolling out visionary products, demonstrating outstanding leadership qualities and holding a successful commercial track record.

2017’s Power List honourees include headlining names such as Fintech developer Wong Joo Seng, whose new Forex trading platform is primed to put Singapore on the trading world map; Frank Phuan who democratised the use of solar energy; and scientist Rosemary Tan who rolled out the world’s first diagnostic kit that can identify several tropical diseases from a single blood sample.

The nomination and selection of the 10 individuals was done by The Peak’s editorial team in consultation with a panel of industry leaders with experience and insight into start-ups and entrepreneurship. The industry experts included veteran Venture Capitalist Soo Boon Koh, Managing Partner of iGlobe Partners; Professor Wong Poh Kam, Director for National University of Singapore Entrepreneurship Centre; Biotechnopreneur Steven Fang, Co-Founder of capital-raising platform CapBridge; and Christopher Lim, Digital Editor of The Business Times.

Last year, the Power List recognized notable philanthropists and social entrepreneurs, while 2015 saw influential women such as The Straits Trading Company Chairman Chew Gek Khim and DBS Group Head of Wealth Management Tan Su Shan lauded.
