You don’t need a bulky book or bartending skills – have bitters-infused cocktails thoroughly mixed to world-class mixologist perfection with a simple app. The robotic bartender is a result of three years of intense research and experiments, which have culminated in the effortlessness of making anything from a menu of more than 300 drinks in a mere five seconds.

Bionic Bar

The Bionic Bar made its debut in 2014, on board the Quantum of the Seas, and is now also featured in Harmony of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas. Each bar features two Robots, each with its own quirky name like “Mix”, “Mingle”, “Shaken” and “Stirred”. The special robots, engineered in Italy, can make up to a thousand drinks each day in endless cocktail combinations across 30 spirits and 21 mixers at an impressive speed of two drinks per minute. Created by Italian robotics company Makr Shakr, these fascinating robots were made with a simulation of movements mapped from Marco Pelle, a principal dancer at the New York Theater Ballet, so the robot can offer some strikingly human-like movements.

The Bartesian

With four reservoirs for vodka, gin, rum, tequila or whisky, you could call this one the ‘Nespresso for Cocktails’. The Bartesian uses pre-mixed cocktail ingredient capsules, with each drink customizable to bear the alcoholic strength of a mocktail to a punchy double shot. The automated drinks maker only has three buttons, with a user-friendly screen to guide you, and operates without an app.

The Monsieur

At first glance the Monsieur, could be well mistaken for a big, boxy cooler or even a vending machine. If you guessed the latter, you are very close – indeed, the Monsieur could dispense your choice of over 300 different cocktails with a simple push of a button, with its easily programmable interface and vivid touchscreen bearing images of the drinks you would like. The smart tabletop device even comes with a rather useful memory feature, which retains the history of your past orders and uses it to create special recommendations. You can also choose from 12 different themes, from ‘bachelorette party’ to ‘cigar bar’, offering around 20 selections each.
