iPhone Edition may launch later than the iPhone 7s/7s Plus

From what we can gather, iPhone Edition will most probably be a higher-end model of Apple’s popular device. And it’s perhaps also a celebratory nod to the iPhone’s 10th anniversary. Apple has used the moniker “Edition” before, for the Apple Watch Edition – a luxury version of its smartwatch that cost more than US$10,000 and was made of 18K gold. The premium iPhone Edition is widely believed to be released with a 5.8-inch OLED display.

At the moment, Apple is still testing different prototypes for the "iPhone Edition" which include models with and without the Touch ID button. Glass, ceramic and aluminum designs with LCD and OLED panels are also being tested. This testing stage is known as the engineering validation testing, which means that Apple may need more time for testing and sourcing materials to make the final decision on the hardware. As a result of the added testing and features on the up-market device, Japanese blog Macotakara, claims that the "iPhone Edition" may be not be available for purchase at the same time as the iPhone 7s/7s Plus.

The "iPhone Edition" will reportedly cost over US$1,000 (about S$1,421) due to the more expensive OLED panel and advanced features such as the "revolutionary 3D-sensing camera" and a "function area" at the bottom of the display.
